The small claims procedure (Tuntutan Kecil) is a simplified track within the Malaysian courts for smaller monetary claims. It is designed so ordinary people can file and argue a claim themselves, with simpler forms and a faster hearing than a full civil trial.
When it matters
If your scam loss is modest and you know who to sue, such as a seller who never delivered goods, small claims can be a lower-cost route than a full lawsuit. It becomes less suitable once the amount is larger or the case involves tracing money through multiple accounts, which is where a fuller civil claim against a scammer or a Sessions Court filing may fit better.
