Legal Aid Bureau

The Legal Aid Bureau, known in Malay as Biro Bantuan Guaman, is a Malaysian government department under the Legal Aid Department that provides legal aid to eligible applicants, generally assessed based on income and the type of matter.
It handles a defined range of civil and family matters, and eligibility, coverage, and required documents should be confirmed directly with the Bureau, since these details can change.
It is a separate body from YBGK, a non-government legal aid foundation. Some matters may fall within one body’s scope but not the other’s.
